“The Labor Department said Tuesday that the consumer price index, a broad measure of the price for everyday goods including gasoline, groceries and rents, rose 8.3% in August from a year ago. Prices climbed 0.1% in the one-month period from July.”



“Clarke’s division is currently resisting efforts to force the DOJ to reveal its strategic plan for using the federal government to intervene in the 2022 midterm elections, in pursuit of what the Biden administration calls ‘voter access.’”



“On Monday, 1,316 employees of the Times signed a pledge not to return to the office after the company demanded they work in-house three days a week. Employees argue a return to work would therefore dramatically increase expenses between gas, food, and clothing.”



“Each year, Gallup conducts a poll that asks Americans whether they have positive or negative views of 25 U.S. business and industry sectors. Last year, there was a big and little noticed crash in Republican positivity on U.S. businesses. The average score among Republicans fell from a net positive 42 to a net positive 32. In the latest poll, the score slipped one point to 31 percent.”



“As workers grow more vocal about finding fulfilling jobs that they can mostly perform from 9 to 5—a practice that has been called ‘quiet quitting’ or ‘anti-hustle’—many job seekers are scrutinizing job postings for commonly used phrases they view as red flags for potential overwork.”



“The Washington Examiner reported that government officials in the nation's capital had approved a citywide vaccine mandate for all eligible K-12 students earlier this year. The mandate was scheduled to go into effect at the beginning of the new school year, but officials delayed it until January 2023 because of noncompliance, particularly among those in the Black community.”
